My Story

My beginnings

I was born in Yorkshire, but life had big plans for me early on. At 9 years old, my family packed up and moved to South Africa — a whole new world that taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of seeing life through different lenses.

I’m a proud mum of three boys — 29, 25, and 8 years old — which means I’ve had one foot in parenting and grand-parenting territory at the same time! Let’s just say I’ve mastered the art of juggling. Family is everything to me, and alongside my partner of 13 years, our lively household includes two dogs, two cats, and plenty of laughter (and probably more muddy paw prints than I’d like to admit).

Over the years, I’ve done just about every job under the sun — from hands-on roles to office work, and most recently working in property. Each role gave me a fresh perspective on people, resilience, and what really matters when life throws curveballs. And one thing I know for sure: no matter the job title, life always has a way of testing your confidence and mindset.

I’ve also got a huge love for travel. Seeing the world reminds me that we’re never too old, too stuck, or too “set in our ways” to embrace something new. That’s exactly what I did at 50 when I stepped out of my comfort zone and trained as a Life & Mindset Coach.

Part of what fascinates me (and what I bring into my coaching) is how our inner chimp works — that emotional, reactive part of the brain that often runs the show. It’s the voice that panics, tells us we’re not good enough, or convinces us to stay small. Learning to recognise, understand, and manage that chimp is life-changing — I know, because I’ve had to do it myself.

Life for me is about balance: loving my family, laughing as much as possible, embracing challenges with a wink and a smile, and helping others tame their chimps so they can step boldly into their next chapter.
